About
Brittany Charise Clardy (June 29, 1994 - February 11, 2013) was raised in St. Paul within a loving family and supportive community. She was a student in the St. Paul public school system and worked at Northdale Recreation Center through St. Paul Parks & Recreation. Brittany was cherished by her wide circle of friends and had a promising future ahead of her.
Despite her strong support system, Brittany fell victim to a sex trafficker. Her life was tragically taken on February 11, 2013, in a sex trafficking incident. The loss of Brittany left her family and community in profound grief, mourning their beloved daughter, sister, friend, and colleague.
Brittany's legacy is one of resilience and compassion within the community. Although her life ended prematurely, her spirit remains a source of inspiration for those who hear her story. Brittany was known for her empathetic nature and her deep care for others, always striving to understand their challenges.
Our organization is committed to empowering women to realize their self-worth, achieve their aspirations, and lead healthy, sustainable lives. We focus on supporting brown and black communities through advocacy, education, and comprehensive services, promoting healing among underserved populations. We are dedicated to aiding Brittany's Place, the first and largest Minnesota shelter and program for young individuals facing sex trafficking or at risk of exploitation.
The Brittany Clardy Foundation joined forces with 180 Degrees as they were about to launch their shelter for at-risk youth of sex trafficking, a first in the state. In honor of Brittany, it was mutually decided to name the shelter after her.
